4.25.13

I was asked not long ago, if I had any pink dogwood in my yard. No, just the one, lonely, confused, white blossoming one I showed last year. But I DID happen across one at the fabric store in Blairsville. I did not have my regular camera, so these are shot with the iPad.

If you have seen dogwood in the woods while driving around here in the Southern Appalachians, did you think the blossoms were this dark? I know I was very surprised.  Look at these pictures I took at the library last year.

I believe I better hunt up those pictures I took of the daffodils. They DID actually bloom though they look like rebloom is not going to happen.

TEA TIME MONDAY has been moved to TEA TIME TUESDAY!

I had HomeSon's camera with me the day I took these dogwood pictures. The pictures came out clean and clear but in a RAW file. I had to get him to translate them into jpg so I could mess with them and show them to you.  I think I would make the first one into a greeting card.
And when I get some of that Bubble Jet stuff, I will use this for some quilt labels. Maybe. There are so many photos that show my love of this area of the world it will be hard to choose.

Remember how thrilled I was to see dogwood in our front yard last year? Well, it is time to marvel at their loveliness again.  I plan to order some of that Bubble Jet product, treat some fabric, and print out some of my flower photographs to use in some projects. I also have all that work I did with my kaleidoscope pictures saved and ready to print on fabric.  I supposed I should order a bunch of printer ink refills, also!

Wouldn't this one be great for a quilt label? I could just put my name and date in the sky part.

Yes, in our own front yard.

I was ready to immediately run out and buy more dogwood trees. I decided to research best planting practices. The flowering pear trees were beautiful this year, too. I will have to figure out when to put those in. I have not bought them but I know where there is a very good nursery.

There are no words to express how this looks first hand.

J cleaned off the porch and railings. It looks like the wasps have been busy even though we have only had one good weather week. As I was walking around the garden, I noticed J had found several of these and knocked the down.

I transplanted some of the irises from the west side and found several more on the eastern most border of the driveway. Also...WE HAVE DOGWOOD! watch tomorrow for pictures!
