A Birthday Gift

Still too much snow and ice to drink this tea. It will be great for the day the first blossoms show and spring promises summer. It smells like happy.

It is a chicken. It is blue. It is a tea pot. What is not to like? 

It is Red Wing Pottery   and probably designed by Belle Kogan. The bad thing is I like almost every piece Belle Kogan ever produced. The good thing is I am not collecting anything but memories at this point and I can visit almost every piece via the computer. They virtually never break, either.

I am goofy about pumpkins, acorns, squash, teapots, vines, you know me or you probably would not be reading this. So there is no surprise when I show you this magnificent creation from Jim and Anne Shelly.

It is a teapot that is viney, pumpkin shaped, and called the acorn squash teapot. It has presence.
